State of Digital: Web Security for Digital Marketers: How to Discover Site Issues
Security is an increasingly important concern for website owners. Aside from the potential loss of data, in recent months I’ve seen websites getting penalised by Google as a result of a hack. So I wrote a beginner’s guide to web security for State of Digital.
For many of you, web security concerns are far outside your comfort zone. That’s okay, don’t worry. SEMrush: How To Survive a Website Migration
SEMrush asked me to be their special guest on one of their regular SEMrush Chat sessions, where they talk about SEO issues on Twitter using the #semrushchat hashtag. The topic of my particular chat was about website migrations: what you need to do to preserve your site’s SEO value. SEMrush has collected the best bits of the chat in their roundup post, linked above.
“A4: Use Screaming Frog or DeepCrawl to gather a list of all pages. State of Digital: Screaming Frog Log File Analyser, The New Must-Have Tool
Screaming Frog are mostly known for their awesome SEO Spider software. Now they’ve released a new tool for SEOs; the Screaming Frog Log File Analyser. I’ve been playing with it for a while and wrote down my thoughts for State of Digital
Now, with the Log File Analyser, the Screaming Frog folks have done it again. Once again they’ve created a tool that saves a lot of manual effort, thus making our life as SEOs so much easier. I’ve only been using the Log File Analyser for a few weeks, but already it’s become a standard go-to tool for any new website I analyse.
Recently I was asked to be an expert guest speaker on a SEMPO hangout to discuss advanced and technical SEO concepts and tactics. Together with Steve Plunkett, Kristine Schachinger, and Simon Heseltine, we chatted about all kinds of technical SEO elements. I felt it was a worthwhile hangout and enjoyed being part of it. You can watch the whole thing below.
